Bodegas fundadas por familias con amplia tradición vitivinicula

Origen a large family

Bodegas Luzon, dedicated to producing and marketing wines from the Jumilla Denomination of Origin (DO), is part of the Fuertes Group.
This company includes more than 20 firms operating in different sectors. Firms such as El Pozo, Cefusa and Fripozo guarantee our quality.

Situation Geography

The Jumilla D.O. is situated in the South East of Spain, an area characterised by wide valleys and broad plains. This is a transition zone between the Mediterranean Levant and Castilla-La Mancha plateau. The Municipality of Jumilla, in the province of Murcia, has more than 30,000 hectares of registered vineyards.

Wine Making

The winery dates back to early in the last century and covers an area of over 4,800 m2. The original structure is made of stone, wood and glass which has been added to over time in a way that combines tradition and innovation, making our winery a very special place.

Production

The soils of our vineyards are stony and coarse textured and endure a climate of hot days and cool nights. Bodegas Luzon, with over 600 hectares of its own vineyards grows grape varieties namely: Monastrell, Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to provide the basis of our fine wines.
After harvesting the vines by hand, we select the best grapes as part of our meticulous process to produce an extraordinary range of top quality wines. The tasting and classification by our Winemaker ensures the results we all desire.
At Bodegas Luzon we strive to achieve the highest standards from the crops we harvest and we utilise the latest technological developments in processing our wines. Our winery uses the most modern systems that guarantee the quality and ensures complete traceability of the grapes from the vineyard through the vinification, fermentation, blending, ageing and subsequent bottling.

Ageing

Our winery has a cellar with a capacity of 4,500 of French and American barrels, each with different levels of toasting depending on what we want the resultant wine to be. The sophisticated process combines elements such as stone, iron and wood, making for a state of the art bodega. We have a separate area where we age bottles through the Crianza and Reserva stages.

After a long and careful process we achieve the desired result of the colour, aroma, flavour and character which sets our wines apart from others and of which we are proud.
